Exion Face for jowls, neck and lip lines

Most RF face treatments use one kind of energy. Exion Face uses two. The radiofrequency warms the skin to encourage collagen. Targeted ultrasound works alongside it, helping your skin make more of its own hyaluronic acid, the molecule that holds water in the skin and keeps it plump.
All you feel is comfortable warmth. You can put your makeup back on and go straight back to your day.
Where it's used: the jawline and jowls, under the chin, the neck, around the eyes, the cheeks, the forehead, around the mouth and the chest.
Lip lines and smokers' lines
The fine vertical lines above the lip are one of the hardest places to treat with needles, because microneedling isn't done on the lips. Exion Face can treat around the mouth and the lips themselves, with no needles at all.

Exion Body for the stomach, arms and bra line
Skin tightening for the body. No needles, no downtime.
Exion Body is the same technology as Exion Face, built for larger areas. The radiofrequency warms the deeper layer of your skin to encourage fresh collagen. Targeted ultrasound works alongside it, helping your skin make more of its own hyaluronic acid, the molecule that holds water in the skin and keeps it plump.
It works on the skin itself. If the skin on your stomach or arms looks looser or crepier than it used to, after a pregnancy, weight loss or simply time, this is the treatment we'd look at first.
All you feel is comfortable warmth, and you go straight back to your day.
Where it's used: the stomach, the upper arms, under the bra line and the banana roll (the soft fold just below the buttocks).
Crepey upper arms
The thin, crinkly skin on the upper arms is one of the hardest places to hide, and one of the hardest to treat. Exion Body works on it with no needles, so there's nothing to cover up afterwards.

Exion RF Microneedling for face, neck, chest and body
Microneedling has been around for years. On its own, it's simple: very fine needles make tiny channels in the skin, and the skin heals them by making new collagen.
RF microneedling adds one thing. Warmth, released at the tip of each needle, right in the layer where collagen is made.
What the needles do
They give the warmth a way in. Regular RF has to pass through the surface first, so the surface sets the limit. The needles skip that step: they carry the radiofrequency beneath the surface, so the deeper layer gets the warmth and the surface gets far less. That's why recovery is only a few days of redness.
What the radiofrequency does
Heat is a signal. When the deeper layer of your skin is warmed, it responds by building fresh collagen and elastin, the fibres that keep skin smooth and firm. That rebuilding takes time, so results come gradually, over the weeks after your course.

The next 72 hours
Let's be straight about this part, because it's the part most pages skip.
Your skin will be pink, a bit like a mild sunburn, usually for a day or two.
- No makeup for 24 to 72 hours. Our nurse will tell you exactly how long for your skin.
- No scrubs or exfoliants while it heals.
- Stay out of the sun, and wear SPF until your skin has fully settled.
- No ibuprofen, aspirin or other anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) for a week before and a week after.
Plan around it: a Friday treatment and a quiet weekend works well for a lot of people.

Exion Clear RF for dark spots and sun damage
Not everyone wants needles.
Clear RF is the needle-free way to use the same idea. Its tip has 64 tiny pins that deliver radiofrequency into a fine grid of points on the skin, leaving the skin between them untouched. Those untouched spaces are why it heals quickly: the skin repairs each point from the healthy skin all around it.
It's chosen for dark spots and sun damage first, then for uneven texture, visible pores and fine lines. Face, neck, chest and the backs of the hands are all common areas.

Your first visit, step by step
- A skin check first. You'll sit down with our nurse, who looks at your skin, asks what you'd like to change and goes through a short health form: recent fillers or Botox, medications like Accutane, a recent tan, anything that means we should wait. If Exion isn't right for you, we'll say so.
- Numbing, or straight in. Exion Face, Exion Body, Clear RF and body treatments usually don't need numbing, so we start right away. For RF microneedling on the face, we can apply numbing cream first if you'd like; it takes about 20 minutes.
- Your treatment. You lie back; we do the work, and check in with you throughout.
- Afterwards, and what's next. Exion Face and Body: back to your day. RF microneedling and Clear RF: a few days of pinkness and no makeup for 24 to 72 hours, and we'll send you home with the aftercare written down. We'll plan the rest of your course together. And your first Exion Face or Body treatment is half price.

How much does Exion cost in Los Angeles?

How do booking and the 50% off work?
Book your Exion Face or Exion Body appointment online at the regular price. We hold a card to reserve your spot. It isn't charged when you book. When you arrive for your appointment, we take 50% off your first treatment. It's for first-time clients, on one treatment. Missed appointments or cancellations within 24 hours carry a $250 fee.
Is Exion just regular RF?
No. Regular RF warms the skin from the surface down, so the surface limits how much warmth reaches the layer where collagen is made. Exion Face and Exion Body pair RF with targeted ultrasound, which helps your skin make more of its own hyaluronic acid. Exion RF microneedling carries the warmth beneath the surface through fine needles. Clear RF delivers RF into a fine grid of points, with no needles.
How is Exion different from Morpheus8?
Both are RF microneedling: fine needles that carry radiofrequency warmth beneath the skin. The differences are in the device. Exion's microneedling tip has an extended mode that BTL says sends the warmth deeper than the needles themselves go. And the same Exion device also offers needle-free Clear RF and Exion Face, so we can choose the right treatment for each area at one visit.
What's the difference between Exion and EmFace? Can I have both?
EmFace works the muscles under your skin, with muscle stimulation plus radiofrequency. Exion works the skin itself, with Exion Face, RF microneedling or Clear RF. They do different jobs, so they combine well, and both are at our Brentwood studio.
Is there downtime after RF microneedling?
Some. Expect pinkness for a day or two, no makeup for 24 to 72 hours, and no sun until your skin has settled. Clear RF is similar. Exion Face and Exion Body have no downtime at all: you can go straight back to your day.
How many sessions will I need?
Exion Face and Exion Body: a course of 4 sessions, 2 to 14 days apart. RF microneedling and Clear RF: usually 2 to 5 sessions, 1 to 6 weeks apart, with your skin fully healed between each one. Our nurse will suggest a number for you at your first visit.

For RF microneedling, also tell us about filler or Botox in the area in the last 3 months, a tan in the last 2 weeks, tattoos or permanent makeup in the area, or skin that tends to form keloid scars. Microneedling isn't done over the eyelids or lips. This isn't a complete medical list; if you aren't sure, call us or ask at your visit.
When will I see results?
Gradually. Collagen takes time to build, so changes appear over the weeks after your course rather than overnight. The before-and-after photos above were taken between 1 and 3 months after the last treatment.
